Kevwe Odima, founder and Principal Advisor, spent three years as an Independent Compliance Monitor at Affiliated Monitors, Inc., conducting forensic assessments for companies under World Bank, DOJ, FTC, and State AG enforcement. That experience, combined with a senior role in BDO USA’s Forensics, Privacy and Data Protection practice, is the foundation of ComplyEdge’s two core practice areas: ethics and compliance program design, and privacy and data protection.

The Compliance Gap
Many organizations have codes of conduct that never translate into operational behavior, and when a regulator or independent monitor examines the gap, paper compliance is treated as an aggravating factor, not a mitigation. This is true whether the pressure comes from a DOJ or State AG matter, a World Bank or AfDB sanctions process, or a Corporate Integrity Agreement. ComplyEdge has worked this problem from both sides: designing programs directly, including baseline assessment, tailored policy drafting, and workforce training for a company under World Bank sanctions, and serving as an independent reviewer, including as Integrity Compliance Consultant for a company under AfDB sanctions and as Board Compliance Expert under an active CIA with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General. Which model applies depends on whether the situation requires independence between who builds the program and who reports on it, and we scope accordingly.

Kevwe Odima
Kevwe Odima is the founder and Principal Advisor of ComplyEdge Advisory Group. He advises U.S. and international enterprises, technology companies, and development institutions on ethics and compliance program design, data privacy, AI governance, and international regulatory matters including sanctions and debarment. His practice is built on more than a decade of experience spanning commercial litigation, independent compliance monitorships for companies under U.S. and multilateral enforcement actions, and advisory roles at BDO USA.
As ComplyEdge grows, the intent is to build a network of independent specialist advisors to bring in for engagements requiring expertise across multiple workstreams, so clients can access the right capability without the overhead of a large firm.
Regulatory Qualification: Kevwe is admitted to the Missouri Bar, giving ComplyEdge full U.S. legal standing for compliance advisory across federal and state regulatory matters. He is also admitted to the Supreme Court of Nigeria, enabling ComplyEdge to advise on Nigerian regulatory requirements and cross-border compliance matters spanning U.S., EU, and West African jurisdictions simultaneously. This combination is genuinely rare and is the foundation of the firm’s cross-border capability.
Ethics & Compliance: Kevwe designs ethics and integrity programs for U.S. and international organizations across a range of regulatory contexts, from DOJ enforcement and corporate integrity requirements to multilateral development bank reinstatement standards. His work aligns programs with the DOJ’s Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, the FCPA, the UK Bribery Act, ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management Systems, and the UN Global Compact. For organizations operating in international markets, including Sub-Saharan Africa, he further adapts programs to local regulatory frameworks and business culture. He is currently engaged by an international development institution to develop compliance training across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Sanctions & Debarment Advisory: Kevwe has advised companies under World Bank, African Development Bank, U.S. Department of Justice, and State Attorney General sanctions. This work has included baseline assessments of existing compliance infrastructure, tailored policy drafting, workforce training, and annual testing to confirm recommendations were actually implemented, as well as independent third-party assessment and reporting where the sanctioning body required a reviewer separate from the party that built the program.
Privacy & AI Governance: Prior to founding ComplyEdge, Kevwe held a senior role in the Forensics, Privacy & Data Protection practice at BDO USA, managing Global DPO services for regulated entities across life sciences, financial services, retail, and hospitality. He has developed legal frameworks for GDPR, CCPA, and NDPA compliance, with particular focus on AI governance architectures, data sovereignty across RAG pipelines, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms between U.S., EU, and Nigerian jurisdictions.
Corporate Integrity Agreement Compliance: Kevwe currently serves as an independent Board Compliance Expert for organizations under Corporate Integrity Agreements with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, reviewing the effectiveness of internally built compliance programs and reporting directly to the organization’s board on the program’s performance.
